coal is history

we were given different historical events and had to come up with an interesting way to represent them.
what struck me about the miners strike was the scale of people made it look like an epic battle scene.



this led me to historical battle imagery such as the beyeux tapestry



i also took influence from stanley donwoods linocut prints that show modern subjects in a historical way.
